Toronto, ON, January 12, 2026 – GEI Consultants, a GISI Consulting Group business, has merged with Terrane Geoscience, a 30-person firm specializing in structural geology, rock mechanics, geotechnical, geo-structural engineering, geospatial data services, and soils testing. Terrane Geoscience is headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has an office in Fredericton, New Brunswick, strengthening GEI’s presence in Atlantic Canada.
“We’re delighted to welcome Terrane to GEI, and to the GISI Consulting Group,” says Scott Wallington, Chief Executive Officer at GEI. “Their teams’ specialized mining expertise will help us to support clients around the world. Likewise, offering GEI’s expanded services to existing Terrane mining clients will strengthen those relationships.”
The addition of the expert team at Terrane continues GEI Canada’s geographic expansion across the country, while also enhancing the firm’s ability to support its existing Atlantic Canada clients with mining, geology, and geotechnical expertise. Terrane also has a significant presence in the province of British Columbia, where they are well-positioned to partner with GeoWest Engineering, a 30-person team of geotechnical experts that joined GEI in June 2025.
“It is a pleasure to be joining GEI, a company that shares Terrane’s values of offering client focused, technically sound engineering and geoscience services across North America and internationally,” says Tony Gilman, Principal at Terrane. “I started my career at GEI in Boston in 2000, so for me this is a bit of a homecoming. While building Terrane, I had in mind at all times GEI’s focus on offering a very high level of technical service. Now, with the world in a push for critical minerals, our combined teams are uniquely positioned to help our mining clients achieve their goals.”
