Safety

GEI has a steadfast commitment to a culture of safety, and we take pride in maintaining a safety record that is the best of comparable engineering firms. Safety is embedded in every aspect of our work – from daily driving to trenches excavation at a construction site.

We have a team of dedicated health and safety professionals across the region who develop and review Health and Safety Plans (HASPs), conduct site audits, and collaborate with our clients to deliver projects safely and in full compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).

GEI also benefits from an in-house training team that offers instruction on all aspects of health and safety, including hazardous waste management, oil and hazardous materials spill prevention and response, stormwater pollution prevention, wastewater and solid waste management, and environmental management systems, among many others. Our trainers bring a passion for education and experience rooted in the firm’s long-standing environmental and safety consulting experience.

Our  commitment to Health and Safety begins with Senior Management and extends throughout every level of the organization. GEI Canada’s Regional Manager serves as an active member of the Corporate Health and Safety Committee.

GEI requires all field personnel to complete the relevant OHSA-approved training programs for their specific roles. Project Managers are responsible for making sure that any project involving fieldwork has a Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP) tailored to the unique safety issues and procedures of each work site.
